Growing stores, one honest take at a time.

Triple Whale alternatives with no annual contract

Triple Whale’s paid plans are 12-month subscriptions. Its pricing page says Foundation, Automate and Enterprise all run on that term, billed monthly or annually, with two months free if you prepay. Monthly billing on a 12-month term is still a 12-month term, which people tend to discover when they try to cancel in month four. The free plan is the exception. It has no commitment and includes first and last click attribution.

A year makes sense for some brands. For a brand that is still testing whether attribution will change its decisions, or whose spend swings hard by season, it is a lot of commitment for a tool that takes a month or two to settle in. These five can be run without signing for a year.

1. Northbeam Starter

Northbeam describes its Starter plan as month-to-month, usage-based pricing for Shopify brands, listed at $1,500 a month. Professional and Enterprise move to annual terms, and stores on other platforms are pointed to those tiers. For a Shopify brand that wants view-based attribution without a year-long commitment, Starter is the cleanest way in, as long as the monthly price fits your ad spend.

2. ThoughtMetric

ThoughtMetric is an e-commerce attribution tool for Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce and custom stores, and it bills monthly by default. (Disclosure: ThoughtMetric sponsors this site.) An optional annual plan includes two free months, but you do not need it. Pricing is based on monthly pageviews, starting at $99 a month for 50,000, with multi-touch attribution, server-side tracking and post-purchase surveys on every plan. If you exceed your pageview tier two months running, it works with you to move up rather than sending a surprise bill. It does not model view-through conversions.

3. Le Pixel by Lebesgue

Le Pixel is billed through the Shopify App Store, listed from $99 a month with tiers by yearly revenue. Because billing runs through Shopify, uninstalling the app ends the subscription, which keeps the exit simple. It is Shopify-only and leans toward lifetime value more than daily campaign management.

4. KnoCommerce

KnoCommerce is a post-purchase survey tool rather than an attribution platform, and it is billed monthly with no long-term contract. Starter is $19 a month, Analyst is $119 and Pro is $299. A survey plus GA4 is a cheap, commitment-free way to see where buyers say they found you while you decide whether a full attribution tool is worth paying for.

5. Google Analytics 4

GA4 is free with no contract. Its data-driven attribution covers what reaches your site with working tracking, and it cannot see impressions on Meta or TikTok. Keep it running regardless of what else you buy, since it is the reference point for checking every other tool.

Read the terms, not the billing cadence

When a vendor says monthly, ask two questions. What is the minimum term, and what is the notice period to cancel. Some tools bill monthly on an annual agreement. Others are month-to-month only on their entry plan and switch to annual the moment you upgrade, which is how Northbeam’s tiers are described. Get the answer in writing before setup starts, because the setup hours are a cost you do not get back either way.

Ask what happens to your data at cancellation as well. Pixel history does not transfer between tools, so the longer you run a tool the more you lose by leaving it. That is one more reason to test on monthly terms first and commit only once the numbers have earned it.

The broader version of this list is e-commerce attribution tools with no annual contract, and Triple Whale’s structure is covered in how much Triple Whale costs and what to check before switching from Triple Whale.
