Growing stores, one honest take at a time.

How much does Triple Whale cost?

Triple Whale has a free plan, and its paid plans start at $219 a month for Foundation and $749 a month for Automate, according to its Shopify App Store listing. Those are entry prices. Triple Whale’s pricing page says the actual price depends on a combination of your annual GMV and the package you choose, and that Foundation, Automate, and Enterprise are all 12-month subscriptions. Enterprise is custom priced. To get your own number, you set your revenue tier on the pricing page or book a walkthrough.

What do the paid plans cost?

The Shopify listing shows Foundation at $219 a month or $2,190 a year, and Automate at $749 a month or $7,490 a year, which works out to about 17 percent off for paying annually. Triple Whale describes the annual option as two months free. The pricing page itself sends Foundation and Automate to a walkthrough and Enterprise to sales, so the Shopify listing is the clearest public source for entry figures. When you see higher specific numbers quoted elsewhere, they are usually a snapshot of a particular GMV band, so get your own quote rather than budgeting from someone else’s.

Why does the price go up as you grow?

Because it is tied to GMV. Triple Whale’s pricing FAQ says that as your business grows you will automatically move to the plan that matches your revenue tier, with notice in advance. If you prepay annually, your tier is locked for that year. So a brand that grows 40 percent will usually see a higher price at renewal even if it uses exactly the same features. It is not hidden, but it is the part people forget to budget for.

What does the Free plan include?

According to the Shopify listing and the pricing page, the Free plan includes the Triple Pixel, first and last click attribution with a lifetime lookback only, a standard post-purchase survey, AI visibility insights for ChatGPT, 10 users, and 12 months of data retention. Multi-touch attribution, the other models and windows, custom dashboards and the SQL editor, cohort analysis and segments, and Sonar all start on Foundation.

What do Foundation and Automate add?

Foundation adds multi-touch attribution, subscription data, creative and product analytics, Sonar Send and Sonar Optimize, cohorts and segments, custom dashboards with a SQL editor, and Moby as an AI analyst with a monthly usage allotment. Automate adds scheduled Moby Automations, Moby Actions that can make changes in connected ad accounts within your approval settings, creative generation and editing, landing pages, and industry benchmarks. Automate also includes the Retention and Conversion capabilities that Foundation customers buy as add-ons.

What costs extra?

Add-ons on the pricing page include Retention and Conversion for Foundation customers, Compass for MMM and incrementality testing (included with Enterprise), Data Warehouse Sync, and Moby Concierge. Moby usage is also metered. Every paid plan includes a monthly allotment, unused usage does not roll over, and additional usage can be purchased, with Automate and Enterprise getting a preferred rate. If your team plans to lean on Moby heavily, ask what the allotment covers before signing.

Is Triple Whale a monthly or annual contract?

Paid plans are 12-month subscriptions either way. You can be billed monthly or annually, but the commitment is a year. That matters if you are still testing whether the tool fits, so plan any evaluation around the renewal date. If you are thinking about leaving, read what to check before switching from Triple Whale first.

How does that compare with alternatives?

Pricing models in this category vary more than the prices do. Some tools charge on revenue, some on ad spend, some on orders or pageviews. ThoughtMetric, which sponsors this blog, charges on pageviews, starting at $99 a month for 50,000 pageviews with every feature included, and can be billed monthly or annually. I compared our sponsor with Triple Whale directly in ThoughtMetric vs Triple Whale, and the wider list is in best Triple Whale alternatives. If you want something cheaper, I priced out the options in cheaper Triple Whale alternatives.

  1. Is Triple Whale’s attribution accurate? – The Ecomm Analyst Avatar

[…] It records touchpoints with its own Triple Pixel, then lets you pick a model. The pricing page lists Linear All, Linear Paid, First Click, Last Click, Triple Attribution, Total Impact, and Clicks and Deterministic Views, with lookback windows of 1, 7, 14, and 28 days plus lifetime. Total Impact is Triple Whale’s own model that folds in post-purchase survey answers. The Free plan only gets first and last click with a lifetime window, and the multi-touch models start on Foundation, which I broke down in how much does Triple Whale cost. […]
