Northbeam alternatives for creative analytics

Creative Analytics is one of the features Northbeam lists alongside its multi-touch attribution, and its Clicks plus Deterministic Views model is the reason a lot of video-heavy brands pay for it. A creative report built on view-aware attribution makes good video look good, where click-only reports tend to bury it. Starter is listed from $1,500 a month for brands spending under $1.5 million a year on ads, with month-to-month, usage-based billing for Shopify brands, and Professional is listed at $3,500 a month on annual terms. Pricing is informed by data volume measured in pageviews, so the quote rises as traffic grows.

If you are looking at alternatives for the creative view specifically, separate two jobs before comparing tools. Creative strategy is about patterns: which hooks, formats, and angles are working, and what to brief next. Creative measurement is about outcomes: which ads actually produced orders and new customers once you stop taking the ad platform’s word for it. Northbeam leans toward the second. These five cover both.

1. Motion

Motion is the strategy tool. It groups ads by concept, hook, or format using tags, so a creative team can see what works across hundreds of ads instead of reading rows. Its performance numbers come from the ad platforms, so it tells you what Meta or TikTok credited each ad with, not what an independent model would say. I could not confirm a current price from Motion’s own pricing page while writing this, so check there before budgeting.

2. ThoughtMetric

ThoughtMetric ranks every ad across connected platforms by ROAS, sales, and CPA from its own attribution, with a toggle between video and image ads so you can see which format is carrying the account. (Disclosure: ThoughtMetric sponsors this site.) Post-purchase survey answers feed the model, and every ad can be read on new-customer orders as well as total sales. Pricing is based on monthly pageviews, starting at $99 a month for 50,000, with every feature on every plan and monthly billing. It does not model view-through conversions, which is the main thing you give up coming from Northbeam on a video-heavy account.

3. Triple Whale

Triple Whale includes creative analysis across platforms on its Foundation plan, and its attribution models include a Clicks and Deterministic Views option alongside Triple Attribution and Total Impact, which blends in post-purchase survey data. Automate adds Creative Studio for generating new variations from winners. Foundation is listed at $219 a month on its Shopify listing, actual pricing depends on annual GMV, and its pricing page says paid plans are 12-month subscriptions. It is the closest like-for-like replacement for teams that want view credit and a creative view in one platform at a lower entry price.

4. Polar Analytics

Polar Analytics puts creative reporting inside a BI workspace, so creative results sit next to merchandising, retention, and finance metrics with shared definitions. It suits a team with someone who will build and maintain reports more than a media buyer who wants a ranked list each morning. Pricing is not listed on the website, so you will need a demo to get a number.

5. Native platform reports

Meta Ads Manager and TikTok’s ads manager both break results down by ad, and they cost nothing. The problem is that each platform grades its own work, counts view-through conversions generously, and cannot see your other channels. For a brand spending most of its budget on one platform with a strict naming convention, native reports go further than people expect, as long as you check the totals against Shopify.

How I read a creative report

The mistake I see most is judging creatives on ROAS alone. Ads served mostly to past buyers post the best ROAS in the account and acquire almost nobody, so I sort by cost per new customer and set a minimum spend filter, because the top of any sorted list is full of ads that spent forty dollars and got lucky. I also want the same creative grouped across ad sets and placements, since a winning video often runs in several places and looks average in each.

The second check is fatigue. A creative that was the best in the account in its first two weeks is rarely the best in its sixth, and frequency rises long before ROAS falls. Whatever tool you use, look at performance by week since launch rather than in one lifetime number. The Triple Whale version of this comparison is in Triple Whale alternatives for creative analytics, and if cost is driving the search, see cheaper Northbeam alternatives.

Picking one

  • Creative strategy team that briefs from patterns? Motion, with attribution underneath.
  • Want ads ranked by attributed sales and new customers at a pageview price? ThoughtMetric (our sponsor).
  • Want view credit and creative analysis in one platform for less than Northbeam? Triple Whale.
  • Want creative results inside a full BI workspace? Polar Analytics.
