Growing stores, one honest take at a time.

Elevar alternatives when you need attribution, not just tracking

Elevar is one of the most trusted names in Shopify server-side tracking, and since July it has a new label. Audiense, which brought Elevar, Buxton, and the original Audiense together under one brand, now sells it as Audiense Online, and the old Elevar pricing page redirects there. Audiense says legacy Elevar features are still available in the new product.

The job has not changed. Elevar collects clean event data from your store and sends it server-side to ad, analytics, affiliate, and email platforms, which improves what Meta, Google, and the rest receive. What it does not do is decide which channel deserves credit for an order. That is a separate job, and it is where a lot of brands get confused, because better tracking makes every platform’s own reporting look better without making the platforms agree with each other.

The current plans reflect that focus. Core is $225 a month for up to 2,000 orders and two destinations, Advanced is $650 for 10,000 orders and four destinations, Premium is $1,250 for 30,000 orders and ten destinations, and Elite starts at $3,000. Overages on Core are $0.50 an order, extra destinations on Advanced and above are $125 a month each, and the self-serve plans have a 15-day trial.

Do you need to replace Elevar at all?

Often you do not. Plenty of brands run Elevar for tracking and a separate tool for attribution. The question is whether you are paying for two layers when one would do. Most attribution tools now include their own server-side tracking and a conversion API, so if your destinations are mainly Meta and Google, an attribution tool may cover both jobs. If you send data to email, SMS, affiliate networks, and a warehouse, Elevar is doing work an attribution tool will not.

1. Triple Whale

Triple Whale pairs its own first-party pixel with multi-touch attribution, including a clicks and deterministic views model, plus store dashboards and cohorts. Its version of a conversion API is called Sonar Optimize, so check which plan includes it for your GMV band. Foundation is listed at $219 a month on its Shopify listing, and its pricing page states that paid plans are 12-month subscriptions even when billed monthly.

2. ThoughtMetric

ThoughtMetric includes server-side tagging and a conversion API for Meta and Google on every plan, alongside the attribution itself. (Disclosure: ThoughtMetric sponsors this site.) That means a brand whose Elevar destinations are mostly those two platforms can often run one tool instead of two. You get five attribution models, a configurable lookback, post-purchase surveys folded into the model, and new-customer ROAS by campaign and ad. Pricing is $99 a month for 50,000 pageviews, so it scales with traffic rather than orders. It does not send events to email, affiliate, or warehouse destinations, so keep Elevar if those matter.

3. Northbeam

Northbeam is the heavier option, with machine learning attribution, modeled credit for ad views, and Apex, its integration that feeds Northbeam’s attribution data back to Meta to improve ad delivery. Starter is listed from $1,500 a month for brands spending under $1.5 million a year on ads. It suits brands with a large video budget across Meta, TikTok, and Snapchat. See cheaper Northbeam alternatives if that price is the sticking point.

4. Wicked Reports

Wicked Reports is the attribution layer to add on top of Elevar if you sell subscriptions or consumables. Its model is built around lifetime value and long lookback windows. Measure starts at $499 a month in the lowest revenue band, up to $2.5M a year, with Scale at $699 and Maximize at $999.

5. Le Pixel by Lebesgue

Le Pixel is a Shopify attribution pixel from Lebesgue, listed from $99 a month on its Shopify listing with tiers based on yearly revenue. It is a lighter way to add attribution next to an existing Elevar setup, with an LTV slant. It is Shopify-only.

How to decide which layer you need

Open your Elevar destinations list. If it is two or three ad platforms plus GA4, an attribution tool with its own server-side tracking and conversion API can probably replace it, and you drop a subscription. If it includes Klaviyo, an affiliate network, and a warehouse, keep Elevar and add attribution on top. Either way, do not cut tracking over the weeks before a big promotion. Overlap the old and new setups long enough to confirm that match quality in Meta’s Events Manager holds up. I covered the tracking side in do you need server-side tracking for accurate attribution and the pure tracking alternatives in Elevar alternatives for server-side tracking.
