Triple Whale and Lifetimely get compared because they both live in the Shopify App Store under analytics and both show you profit. They are not trying to do the same job. Triple Whale is an attribution and ad analytics platform with profit reporting attached. Lifetimely is a profit and lifetime value tool that does not try to be your attribution source. Which one you need depends on which question keeps you up at night.
Triple Whale prices on GMV and locks you in for a year
Triple Whale no longer shows prices on its pricing page. Paid buyers are routed to a walkthrough or to sales, and the page explains that price depends on your annual GMV and the package you pick, with Foundation, Automate and Enterprise sold as 12-month subscriptions. Its Shopify App Store listing still shows the floor, with Foundation at $219 a month and Automate at $749 a month. There is also a free plan that includes its pixel. My running notes on where the bands land are in how much Triple Whale costs.
What you get for that is its own pixel, multi-touch attribution across the major ad platforms, creative analytics and its Moby AI layer. The whole product is organized around ad spend decisions.
Lifetimely prices on orders and bills month to month
Lifetimely, now part of AMP, prices on monthly Shopify order volume. Its published ladder runs from a free plan at up to 50 orders, to S at $79 for up to 500 orders, M at $149 for up to 3,000 and L at $299 for up to 7,000. AMP’s help center lists higher tiers at $499 and $749, with an Unlimited plan at $999. It says paid plans include every feature, and that billing is monthly only. Amazon data is a $75 a month add-on.
The feature list is about the customer, not the ad. Predictive LTV, daily profit and loss, cohorts and segmentation are the core. You open Lifetimely to learn what a customer acquired in March is worth by September, and what you really cleared on last week’s orders after COGS, shipping and fees.
Where they overlap and where they do not
Both will show you a profit view and both will show you LTV in some form. The overlap ends at attribution. Triple Whale wants to tell you which ad drove an order. Lifetimely is happy to tell you what that order and that customer were worth, and leaves the “which ad” question mostly alone.
Pricing logic diverges just as sharply. A brand doing $3 million a year on 3,000 orders a month lands on Lifetimely M at $149. The same brand on Triple Whale is priced by its GMV band, and the $219 App Store figure is a floor, not a quote. A high-AOV brand with few orders gets a good deal from Lifetimely’s model. A low-AOV brand with lots of orders might find the gap narrower than expected.
Running Lifetimely next to a lighter attribution tool
A pattern I see a lot is Lifetimely for profit and LTV paired with a separate attribution tool, instead of one platform doing everything. ThoughtMetric fits that role, with multi-touch attribution, server-side tracking and post-purchase surveys included, and pricing based on monthly pageviews starting at $99 a month. (Disclosure: ThoughtMetric sponsors this site.) Depending on your pageviews, order count and GMV band, the pair can come in under a single Triple Whale plan or above it, so price it both ways, and remember that running two tools has its own overhead. ThoughtMetric does not track Amazon sales, so Lifetimely’s Amazon add-on is the piece that covers that channel in this pairing. More on that comparison is in ThoughtMetric vs Lifetimely and ThoughtMetric vs Triple Whale.
When Triple Whale is the better single tool
If your team wants one login, one AI assistant and creative reporting next to attribution, Triple Whale is built for that, and the yearly commitment buys you a lot of surface area. It makes the most sense when ad spend is high enough that faster creative decisions pay for the contract. I wrote about where that threshold sits in is Triple Whale worth it. If you mainly want LTV and margin clarity, look at Lifetimely alternatives before assuming you need the bigger platform.
Questions to ask before you choose
Ask Triple Whale which GMV band you fall into and what happens to your price if you cross into the next one partway through the 12-month term. Ask which features in the demo are on Foundation and which need Automate. Ask Lifetimely how it treats refunds and partial orders in its order count, since that count sets your plan. With both, connect real store data during the trial and check one month of numbers against your own Shopify reports before you commit.
Picking one
- Main question is which ads and creatives are working? Triple Whale.
- Main question is what customers are worth and what you really earn per order? Lifetimely.
- Want month-to-month billing and order-based pricing? Lifetimely, since Triple Whale’s paid plans are annual.
- Want LTV plus attribution without one large contract? Pair Lifetimely with a lighter attribution tool like ThoughtMetric (our sponsor).
