Northbeam competitors for Shopify brands

Northbeam sits at the top of the e-commerce attribution market on both price and modeling. Starter is listed from $1,500 a month for brands spending under $1.5 million a year on ads, billed month to month, and the larger tiers are quoted. What that buys is serious modeling, including its Clicks plus Deterministic Views model, which credits ad impressions as well as clicks.

Its competitors fall into three groups: tools that do similar work for less, tools that go further on measurement or reporting, and tools that answer a different question entirely. Here is how I would sort them for a Shopify brand. If cost is the main reason you are looking, I covered that separately in cheaper Northbeam alternatives.

1. Triple Whale

Triple Whale is the competitor most brands compare first. Both offer multi-touch attribution with a model that credits views as well as clicks, but Triple Whale wraps attribution in a broader platform with dashboards, cohorts, creative analytics, a SQL editor, and an AI assistant. Foundation is listed at $219 a month on its Shopify listing, actual pricing depends on annual GMV, and paid plans are 12-month subscriptions. It is the closer fit for teams that want one tool for everything. Northbeam is the closer fit for teams that care most about the model.

2. ThoughtMetric

ThoughtMetric competes on the core attribution job at a much lower price. (Disclosure: ThoughtMetric sponsors this site.) It offers multi-touch attribution with five models and configurable lookback windows, folds post-purchase survey answers into the model, and reports new-customer ROAS and cost per new-customer order for every campaign and ad. Pricing is based on monthly pageviews, starting at $99 a month for 50,000, with every feature on every plan and monthly billing. It does not model view-through conversions, which is the main thing Northbeam does that it does not. The head-to-head is in ThoughtMetric vs Northbeam, where the same disclosure applies.

3. Rockerbox

Rockerbox is the enterprise-leaning competitor, built for brands whose mix includes TV, podcasts, direct mail, and other channels that need to sit in the same model as paid social. DoubleVerify acquired it in 2025, which I covered in Rockerbox alternatives after the DoubleVerify acquisition. Rockerbox does not publish pricing, so expect a sales process and a quote.

4. Wicked Reports

Wicked Reports competes on a different axis, which is long-term value. It credits repeat purchases back to the original acquisition source, so a campaign is judged on the customers it brings in over months rather than on first-order ROAS. Its pricing uses annual revenue bands, and up to $2.5M, Measure is $499 a month, Scale is $699, and Maximize is $999. Subscription and consumable brands often find it answers their real question better than Northbeam does.

5. Polar Analytics

Polar Analytics is the BI-first competitor. It has attribution, but its strength is a governed data layer with a long list of sources, including marketplaces, and reports that span marketing and the rest of the business. Choose it when the problem is fragmented reporting more than attribution. Pricing is not listed on the website, so you will need a demo to get a number.

What Northbeam does that most competitors do not

The honest answer is view modeling and the depth of its machine learning. If a large share of your budget goes to video on Meta, YouTube, or connected TV, click-only attribution will undercount it, and Northbeam’s approach is one of the more serious attempts to fix that. If most of your spend is search, shopping, and retargeting, that advantage shrinks, and the price gap becomes harder to defend.

There is also a data volume question. Modeled attribution needs enough conversions to learn from, and a brand with a few hundred orders a month across five channels will not give any model much to work with. In that case a simpler model you understand, checked against a post-purchase survey, is usually the better buy. I went through that trade-off in is Northbeam worth it for a brand under $20M.

Whichever you choose, run it alongside Northbeam for a month before cancelling. Attribution tools disagree with each other by design, and the overlap period shows you whether the new tool’s differences are ones you can live with. Pixel history does not transfer, so a new tool starts counting from the day it is installed, which also means a switch made in October leaves you judging Black Friday against no history at all.
