Growing stores, one honest take at a time.

Rockerbox alternatives after the DoubleVerify acquisition

DoubleVerify announced in February 2025 that it would buy Rockerbox in an $85 million cash deal, and the acquisition closed that March. DoubleVerify’s stated plan was to connect Rockerbox’s attribution, media mix modeling, and incrementality testing to its own AI activation product, Scibids, and to use Rockerbox to reach smaller performance advertisers. Rockerbox does not publish a rate card, so pricing still comes from a sales conversation.

Nothing I have seen says the product got worse. The reasons Shopify operators look around are more practical. You are now buying from an ad verification company whose largest customers are enterprise brands, the pricing is opaque, and Rockerbox was already more platform than most stores between $1M and $20M need. If that describes your evaluation, here are five alternatives, grouped by which part of Rockerbox you actually use.

1. Northbeam

The closest like-for-like replacement if you rely on Rockerbox for daily multi-touch attribution and want modeling on top. Northbeam publishes a Starter price of $1,500 a month for brands at lower ad spend, and that figure is a floor, because your actual rate moves with pageview volume. Higher tiers are quoted. Media mix modeling is sold as an add-on rather than included, and direct integrations beyond Shopify start above the entry tier. For a brand spending heavily across several paid channels it is the most direct swap. For a store spending $30,000 a month on ads, the entry price is a large share of the budget.

2. Haus

If the part of Rockerbox you valued was incrementality testing, Haus is built around it. The platform runs geo-based experiments that measure the incremental orders and revenue your ads drive, and it has added causal media mix modeling on top. Haus lists four plans on its pricing page, Basics for Shopify, Core, Plus, and Enterprise, and every one routes to a demo rather than a price. Basics is limited to US geo tests on the major ad platforms with Shopify and Amazon sales data, and causal MMM starts at Plus. It answers whether a channel works. It is not where you go to see which ad produced Tuesday’s orders.

3. Recast

Recast focuses on media mix modeling and is worth a look if Rockerbox’s MMM was the reason you bought it. There is no public pricing, so expect a sales process and a quote tied to your spend and scope. The honest caveat applies to every MMM. A model needs enough history and enough variation in spend to separate channel effects from seasonality, and a store with a year of steady Meta and Google spend may not give it much to work with. An MMM also says nothing at the ad level. It works on channel and campaign aggregates, so you will still want an attribution tool for creative decisions.

4. Wicked Reports

Wicked Reports suits brands that cared most about Rockerbox’s view of the full customer journey, especially first touch. It is built around first-click credit and long lookback windows, which fits subscription and high-consideration products where the first ad and the first order are weeks apart. Pricing is banded by your trailing twelve months of revenue. In the lowest band, Measure is $499 a month, Scale is $699, and Maximize is $999, with Enterprise starting at $4,999 for brands past $50M.

5. ThoughtMetric

ThoughtMetric, which sponsors this blog, covers the part of Rockerbox most Shopify stores use every day, multi-touch attribution down to the individual ad, with post-purchase surveys in the same tool to catch influence that clicks miss. It is not a media mix model, and it will not design geo experiments for you. What it offers instead is a price that does not need a sales call. It is $99 a month based on pageviews, or $83 billed annually, with every feature at every tier and a 14-day trial without a card. For a brand below $20M whose Rockerbox usage is mostly the attribution dashboard, that covers most of the same daily answers at a fraction of the likely cost.

How I would choose

Start by listing what you opened Rockerbox for last month. If the answer is the attribution dashboard, you are paying for modeling and testing you do not use, and a dedicated attribution tool will cover it. If the answer is MMM readouts, look at Recast or Northbeam. If it is lift tests, Haus. Most brands will find they need one of these, not all three. If you genuinely use all three every month, Northbeam is the closest single replacement.

Two warnings before you sign anything. Switching loses your touchpoint history, since the new tool starts collecting from the day it is installed, so run both side by side through at least one full purchase cycle before you cancel. And if you are weighing ThoughtMetric specifically, the tradeoffs are laid out in more detail in ThoughtMetric vs Rockerbox.
