Growing stores, one honest take at a time.

Mipler alternatives for Shopify custom reports

Mipler is a good Shopify reporting app. There is a free tier that covers stores under 1,000 orders with more than a hundred built-in reports, paid plans start at $9.99 a month for a store on Basic Shopify, and the Advanced plan is $19.99 a month or $191.88 a year for unlimited custom reports and multi-store consolidation. Pricing steps up with your Shopify plan tier, which is the convention across this whole category of app, and there is a 7-day trial.

Before you shop for a replacement, sort out which problem you actually have. Reporting apps like Mipler are excellent at operational and financial questions. Sales by product, inventory, tax, COGS, payouts. They are not built to tell you which ad drove the order. Those are different tools and buying the wrong one is the most common mistake I see here.

1. ThoughtMetric

ThoughtMetric, which sponsors this blog, goes first because a large share of people searching for a Mipler replacement are searching for the wrong category. They do not want a better sales-by-SKU export. They want to know which channel produced the revenue, and no reporting app answers that.

It is $99 a month on pageview-based pricing, or $83 a month billed annually, with all features at every tier and a 14-day trial. You get multi-touch attribution, post-purchase survey data, and channel reporting. If your actual complaint about Mipler is that it cannot tell you where customers came from, this is the fix. If your complaint is about tax reports, keep reading.

2. Report Pundit

Report Pundit is the closest like-for-like swap and usually the cheaper one. There is a free plan for stores under 1,000 lifetime orders, and paid tiers run $9, $19, $35, and $60 a month depending on which Shopify plan you are on.

The real differentiator is integrations. Where most Shopify reporting apps only see Shopify, Report Pundit pulls from ad platforms, payment processors, and shipping tools, which means you can build a report that spans more than store data. It also runs a free custom report service, which matters more than it sounds if nobody on your team wants to learn a report builder. More on that field in my Report Pundit alternatives post.

3. Better Reports

Better Reports is the heavyweight of the Shopify reporting apps, and the one finance teams tend to ask for by name. Deeper custom field logic, strong pivot and chart building, POS support, and a custom report service that people rate highly. If your finance team has requests that Mipler keeps failing, this is where they usually end up.

Pricing is tiered by your Shopify plan and billed separately per store, with multi-store discounts available on request rather than published. It is the most expensive option in this group by a wide margin at the upper Shopify tiers, so price it against your own plan before assuming it is comparable to the others here.

4. Polar Analytics

Polar Analytics is a different class of product. Rather than reporting on Shopify data, it consolidates Shopify, ad platforms, email, and subscriptions into one warehouse-backed layer with dashboards on top. For a brand that has genuinely outgrown app-level reporting and wants one source of truth, that is the right architecture.

Pricing is not listed on the website and requires a demo. Budget accordingly, because this is not a $20 a month app and the sales process will take longer than installing something from the app store.

5. Glew

Glew has been around longer than most of this list and leans hard into profitability, inventory, and customer segmentation rather than ad measurement. It is closer to a business intelligence product than a report builder, which cuts both ways depending on who is going to use it. Multi-channel brands selling on Shopify plus a marketplace tend to like it, because it was built for that shape of business rather than for a single storefront.

I could not confirm a current public figure on their own pricing page, so I am not printing one. Treat it as a quote conversation and ask what the number looks like at your order volume before you get attached to the demo.

Picking between these

Start with the category question. If you want marketing measurement, ThoughtMetric or Polar Analytics are the two real answers and the reporting apps are a dead end. If you want better operational and financial reporting, Report Pundit is the value pick, Better Reports is the one that will handle whatever finance throws at it, and Glew makes sense if you sell across more than one channel.

One last thing worth saying about all of them. A reporting tool inherits the quality of the data underneath it, so if your orders carry inconsistent tags or your UTM discipline is loose, a better report builder will produce a more confident version of the same wrong answer. Fix the inputs first. The app is the easy part.

About

Six years in e-commerce. Three Shopify stores across different niches, one scaled past seven figures. I’ve tested hundreds of ad creatives, obsessed over email flows, and learned more from my failures than my wins.

Now I focus on conversion optimization, retention marketing, and the analytics behind it all. This blog is where I share what actually works, backed by real numbers. No fluff, no guru energy.
