The Best Attribution Tools for Rug Brands

Rugs are expensive, bulky, and hard to judge on a screen. Buyers check sizes against their floor plan, order swatches or samples, compare colors across a few visits, and often return the first rug they try. Google Shopping and Pinterest do a lot of the work, Meta drives discovery, and return rates can wipe out what a channel looked like it earned.

So the tools that fit track samples as part of the journey, handle long lookbacks, and let you judge channels after returns. Here’s my ranking. (Disclosure: ThoughtMetric, ranked first, sponsors this site.)

1. ThoughtMetric

ThoughtMetric, which sponsors this site, integrates natively with Google Ads, including Shopping, plus Pinterest, Meta, TikTok, and Bing. It attributes revenue down to the campaign and ad, and post-purchase survey answers feed its model. It’s an e-commerce attribution tool for Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, and custom stores. Pricing starts at $99 a month for 50,000 pageviews, with every feature on every plan.

2. Triple Whale

Triple Whale adds product analytics and cohorts next to multi-touch attribution on Foundation, which helps when a few patterns carry most of your ad spend. Foundation is listed from $219 a month on its Shopify listing and is priced by annual GMV. The free plan covers first and last click with a 12-month lookback.

3. Northbeam

Northbeam fits rug brands spending heavily across Meta, Google, and Pinterest, and its Clicks + Deterministic Views model credits ads people saw without clicking. Starter is listed from $1,500 a month for brands spending under $1.5 million a year on ads, month to month for Shopify brands. Professional is $3,500 a month on annual terms and adds support for any e-commerce platform.

4. Wicked Reports

Wicked Reports keeps the first touch on record however long the buyer takes, which matters when a small sample order turns into a full rug a month later. Measure is $499 a month for brands under $2.5 million in revenue, with Scale at $699 and Maximize at $999.

5. KnoCommerce

KnoCommerce can ask whether buyers found you through an ad, Pinterest, a friend, or a showroom visit, and why they bought online. Starter is $19 a month, Analyst $119, and Pro $299.

What rug brands should measure

Treat sample and swatch orders as a conversion step and track how many turn into full orders by channel. Measure channel ROAS on revenue after returns, since a returned rug costs you shipping both ways. Set the lookback from your own days-to-purchase data. And watch product-level results, because one hero pattern can make a whole campaign look better than it is. See attribution tools for furniture and home goods, attribution tools and refunds, and product-level attribution tools.

FAQs

Should sample orders count as conversions?

Track them as their own step, then measure how many turn into full orders by channel.

How do returns affect attribution?

They can make a channel look profitable when it isn’t. Judge ROAS on revenue after returns.

Does Google Shopping get too much credit?

Often, because it catches buyers at the end. Surveys and Pinterest data show what started the search.

What’s the cheapest setup?

ThoughtMetric, which sponsors this site, at $99 a month or Triple Whale’s free plan, plus KnoCommerce from $19.

About

Six years in e-commerce. Three Shopify stores across different niches, one scaled past seven figures. I’ve tested hundreds of ad creatives, obsessed over email flows, and learned more from my failures than my wins.

Now I focus on conversion optimization, retention marketing, and the analytics behind it all. This blog is where I share what actually works, backed by real numbers. No fluff, no guru energy.
