Triple Whale and Polar Analytics end up on the same shortlist because both sell a Shopify brand one login for dashboards and attribution. The overlap is real, but they come at it from opposite ends. Triple Whale started with its pixel and attribution and built business intelligence and AI around it. Polar started as a reporting layer that pulls every data source into one place, and its pixel sits on a higher plan.
That starting point still shapes what you get on each plan and how much of the attribution story you can trust out of the box. Here is how I would compare them.
The short version

| Strongest at | Dashboards, SQL, creative and Moby AI together | BI, custom metrics and Klaviyo enrichment | Multi-touch attribution and surveys at a low price |
How they price
Triple Whale‘s pricing page says every price is a combination of your annual GMV and the package you pick, either Foundation, Automate or Enterprise. Paid plans are 12-month subscriptions that you can pay monthly or annually, and paying annually gives two months free and locks your tier for the year. There is also a free plan with first- and last-click attribution, which is enough for a small store that mainly wants one clean dashboard.
Polar Analytics pricing is not listed on the website, so you need a demo to get a number. Its help center does say plans are available monthly with no long-term commitment. That is a real difference from Triple Whale’s 12-month paid plans if you are not ready to sign for a year.
So the planning question differs. With Triple Whale, plan around the contract term. With Polar, plan around getting the quote in writing and asking how it will change as you grow.
Attribution versus reporting
This is the difference that matters most. On Triple Whale, multi-touch attribution through the Triple Pixel is part of the Foundation plan, alongside post-purchase surveys and influencer and affiliate tracking. If attribution is the reason you are buying, you get it on the first paid tier.
Polar’s entry plan, Analyze, is built around business intelligence. It includes dashboards, custom metrics, benchmarks, alerts and the Ask Polar assistant, with unlimited users, connectors and history. The Polar first-party pixel is listed on Analyze & Enrich, and the Conversion API enhancer and Klaviyo Flow Enricher on Analyze, Enrich & Activate. An entry-plan Polar account is a reporting tool that reads platform numbers, not an independent attribution tool, so check which plan your quote covers.
Both will show numbers that disagree with Ads Manager, which is expected. Before trusting either, read Is Triple Whale’s attribution accurate? and Is Polar Analytics’ attribution accurate?
AI and analysis
Both have leaned hard into assistants. Triple Whale’s Moby is on its paid plans, and its usage FAQ says each paid plan includes a monthly allotment sized to plan and GMV, with Foundation usage carrying a markup over model costs that Automate does not. Polar includes Ask Polar from its entry plan up. If your team plans to work through an assistant every day, ask each vendor what a heavy month costs, because usage-based AI is where bills drift.
The third option
ThoughtMetric is an e-commerce attribution tool for Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce and custom stores. (Disclosure: ThoughtMetric sponsors this site.) It is narrower than either platform and cheaper than both. Pricing starts at $99 a month based on pageviews, with every feature on every plan, including the pixel, and you can pay monthly or annually. It reports multi-touch attribution split into new and returning customers, runs “how did you hear about us” surveys, and sends conversions back to ad platforms. It is not a BI suite, so if you want custom dashboards across finance and inventory, Polar or Triple Whale covers more. More in our three-way comparison of the sponsor against Polar and Triple Whale.
FAQs
Is Triple Whale or Polar Analytics better for attribution?
Triple Whale, if attribution is the main job. Multi-touch attribution through its pixel is on its first paid plan, while Polar’s pixel starts on Analyze & Enrich. Polar is stronger as a reporting and BI layer.
Is Polar Analytics cheaper than Triple Whale?
You cannot tell from the websites. Polar’s pricing is not listed on the website, and Triple Whale prices on GMV and package without a public figure. Get both quotes in writing for the same scope.
Does Triple Whale require an annual contract?
Its paid plans are 12-month subscriptions, billed monthly or annually. The free plan has no commitment.
Can I use Polar Analytics without its pixel?
Yes. The Analyze plan reports on data from your store and connected platforms. Polar’s first-party pixel starts on Analyze & Enrich.
Is there a cheaper option focused on attribution?
ThoughtMetric, this site’s sponsor, starts at $99 a month on pageviews with every feature included. It suits brands that want attribution and surveys more than a BI suite.
