Shopify Plus brands feel Triple Whale’s pricing model the most. Its paid plans price on annual GMV and package and run as 12-month subscriptions, so a brand doing $15 million pays for that revenue whether the team lives in Moby or just checks the attribution page. Plus brands also have needs that sit outside one dashboard, such as expansion stores, wholesale, retail and a checkout that keeps sending clean data.
To be fair to Triple Whale, it handles some of this well. Its paid plans include unlimited users and integrate with as many stores as you need. If that is your main requirement, staying is reasonable. If you are looking because of cost, contract terms or attribution method, here are five alternatives.
What matters on Shopify Plus
| Need | Why it matters | Tools that handle it |
|---|---|---|
| Several stores or markets | Expansion stores and Shopify Markets split the data | Polar Analytics, Elevar, Northbeam Enterprise |
| Clean checkout data | Server-side events fill gaps in ad platform data | Elevar |
| Independent attribution | Platform numbers double-count at scale | ThoughtMetric (sponsor), Northbeam |
| Survey data | Retail, word of mouth and PR leave no click | Fairing, ThoughtMetric (sponsor) |
| Predictable cost | GMV pricing rises with revenue | ThoughtMetric (sponsor), Elevar |
1. Northbeam
Northbeam is the closest like-for-like swap for a Plus brand with heavy paid media. Starter is listed at $1,500 a month for brands spending under $1.5 million a year on ads, month-to-month, and limited to Shopify, which is not a problem here. Professional, at $3,500 a month for brands spending up to $500,000 a month, adds unlimited users, exports and integrations. Enterprise adds geo-specific dashboards and exports of granular touchpoint data, and Northbeam says multi-store setups go through its sales team.
2. ThoughtMetric
ThoughtMetric is an e-commerce attribution tool for Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce and custom stores. (Disclosure: ThoughtMetric sponsors this site.) For a Plus brand the appeal is mostly the cost structure. Price follows pageviews rather than revenue, so a high-AOV brand or one with a large repeat base is not paying a GMV meter. It reports multi-touch attribution split by new and returning customers, product-level results by campaign, and post-purchase surveys, and it sends conversions back to Meta and Google. Pricing starts at $99 a month based on pageviews, with every feature on every plan. It does not do MMM, so brands that want modeling should look at Northbeam Enterprise or Triple Whale Enterprise.
3. Polar Analytics
Polar Analytics is the pick if the real job is reporting across a complicated business. Its Workspaces feature handles several brands in one account, and every plan includes unlimited users, connectors and historical data. Its first-party pixel starts on the Analyze & Enrich plan. Pricing is not listed on the website.
4. Elevar
Elevar is not an attribution dashboard. It sends your Shopify orders to destinations like GA4 and Meta from the server, and it supports Shopify Markets and multi-store plans. Essentials is $200 a month for 1,000 orders, Growth is $450 for 10,000 and Business is $950 for 50,000, with overage billed per order. Pair it with an attribution tool or GA4 rather than treating it as a replacement on its own.
5. Fairing
Fairing runs Shopify Plus Certified post-purchase surveys, with integrations including Shopify POS, Checkout Extensions and Klaviyo. It is free up to 100 orders a month, then priced on order volume from $15 to $199, with larger volumes listed on its pricing page. For a Plus brand with retail or PR spend, survey data is often the only signal for those channels.
When to stay with Triple Whale
If your team uses Moby, the creative tools and SQL every week, the platform is doing more than attribution and a cheaper tool will leave gaps. Switching also has a real cost. Your pixel history stays behind, and any new tool needs a few weeks of data before its numbers are worth acting on, so time a move for a quiet month rather than Q4. More in what to check before switching from Triple Whale.

FAQs
Does Triple Whale charge more for Shopify Plus stores?
It prices on annual GMV and package, not on your Shopify plan. Plus brands usually have higher GMV, so they land in higher tiers.
Does Triple Whale support multiple Shopify stores?
Yes. Triple Whale says its paid plans include unlimited users and integrate with as many stores as needed.
What is the cheapest Triple Whale alternative for a Plus brand?
Among the attribution tools here, ThoughtMetric, our sponsor, at $99 a month on pageviews. Fairing and Elevar can cost less but do different jobs, surveys and server-side tracking.
Do Shopify Plus brands need server-side tracking?
Not always. It helps when ad platforms are receiving incomplete conversion data. See whether server-side tracking makes attribution more accurate.
