Growing stores, one honest take at a time.

Triple Whale alternatives for BigCommerce stores

Triple Whale added BigCommerce in August 2024 and announced it as a beta integration. Its integrations page still lists BigCommerce next to Shopify and WooCommerce, so you can connect a BigCommerce store today. What I would want to know before signing is how much of the product was built around Shopify’s data model and how much of it carries over. Triple Whale prices by annual GMV and its paid plans run on 12-month terms. A year is a long time to find out the answer.

If you run BigCommerce and you are shopping for attribution, these five treat your platform as a primary connection rather than a later extension. I ranked them by how well they fit a typical BigCommerce brand doing a few million a year, not by feature count.

1. Wicked Reports

Wicked Reports has a native BigCommerce connection in its orders data settings. Once connected it pulls your full order history for cohort and lifetime value reporting, and if you run subscriptions inside BigCommerce it chains those orders together. Its tracking code goes on your storefront pages as a separate step. Pricing follows revenue bands, and under $2.5 million in annual revenue Measure is $499 a month, Scale is $699 and Maximize is $999. Plan around refresh timing. Wicked’s help docs say its database updates once each morning, so it suits reading trends more than watching a launch hour by hour.

2. ThoughtMetric

ThoughtMetric is an e-commerce attribution tool for Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce and custom stores, and BigCommerce is a direct integration rather than a beta. (Disclosure: ThoughtMetric sponsors this site.) Every plan includes multi-touch attribution with five models, server-side tracking, post-purchase surveys, and product and customer reporting. Pricing is based on monthly pageviews, starting at $99 a month for 50,000, with monthly or annual billing. It does not model view-through conversions, run a media mix model, or pull Amazon revenue, so brands with heavy video spend or a large Amazon channel should weigh that.

3. Northbeam

Northbeam supports BigCommerce, though not the way it supports Shopify. Shopify gets a native app. BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Magento and custom stores send orders through Northbeam’s Server API, which its knowledge base says must be implemented alongside its pixel so customer and order IDs match on both sides. That is developer work, and you need your historical orders sent too. The plan matters as well. Northbeam lists Starter at $1,500 a month on month-to-month terms for Shopify brands, while other platforms are pointed to Professional or Enterprise on annual terms. For a BigCommerce store the real entry point sits above the headline number.

4. Hyros

Hyros works on any store platform and follows a buyer across ad clicks, email and calls. Its pricing page sends you to a setup call for a quote tied to the revenue it tracks for you. It fits BigCommerce stores selling high-ticket products or running quote-heavy B2B sales better than a store with thousands of small orders, and the call tracking only earns its keep if someone on your team takes sales calls.

5. Google Analytics 4

GA4 is free and connects to BigCommerce. It uses data-driven attribution by default and makes a reasonable baseline for any store. Its weak spot is paid social. Meta and TikTok spend has to be brought in yourself, and its reports are built on sessions and events rather than an order-level view of each customer. Keep it running next to whatever you buy and use it as a cross-check.

What to test on a BigCommerce trial

BigCommerce gives you more checkout options than Shopify, and checkout is where tracking quietly breaks. Place a test order through each checkout path you use, including any embedded or one-page checkout, and confirm it lands in the tool with the right source. Then compare a full week of orders and revenue against BigCommerce with refunds included. A gap of a few percent is normal. A gap of 20 percent means something is not firing.

If you sell B2B through the same store, check whether those orders are included or filtered out. Wholesale orders mixed into DTC attribution make every channel look better than it is, and nobody notices until a budget gets cut on the strength of it. Ask each vendor during the demo how you exclude orders by customer group.

Six years in e-commerce. Three Shopify stores across different niches, one scaled past seven figures. I’ve tested hundreds of ad creatives, obsessed over email flows, and learned more from my failures than my wins.

Now I focus on conversion optimization, retention marketing, and the analytics behind it all. This blog is where I share what actually works, backed by real numbers. No fluff, no guru energy.
