Growing stores, one honest take at a time.

wetracked.io vs ThoughtMetric vs Triple Whale

This comparison comes up because all three promise more accurate numbers. They mean different things by it. wetracked.io is mainly about fixing what your ad platforms see. ThoughtMetric and Triple Whale are mainly about telling you what actually drove the sale. Some brands need one, some need both. (Disclosure: ThoughtMetric sponsors this site.)

wetracked.io: better signal to the ad platforms

wetracked.io tracks events server-side, stitches sessions together, enriches them with first-party data, and forwards conversions to your existing pixels on Meta, TikTok, X, Pinterest, Snapchat, and Google Ads. The goal is that Ads Manager sees more of the purchases that browser pixels miss, so the algorithms optimize on fuller data. Its own FAQ says no additional dashboard is needed because the data lands back in the ad managers, though it does include a Pulse dashboard and creative analytics in beta on higher plans.

It supports Shopify, WooCommerce, and several checkout and funnel tools such as Funnelish and CheckoutChamp. Pricing is by monthly orders: Starter is $49 a month for up to 500 orders and three stores, Business is $149 for up to 3,000 orders, Scale-up is $249 for up to 7,500, and Enterprise is custom. There is a 14-day trial, 20% off for annual billing, and a 60-day money-back guarantee.

What it does not do is decide credit across channels for you. When Meta and Google both claim the same order, wetracked makes sure each platform has the cleanest possible data, but each platform still reports its own version.

ThoughtMetric: independent multi-touch attribution

ThoughtMetric runs its own pixel and assigns credit across every connected channel with one of five attribution models, so a sale is counted once rather than once per platform. (ThoughtMetric is our sponsor.) It adds post-purchase surveys, product and SKU attribution, and new versus returning splits. It also sends conversion data back to Meta and Google through their conversion APIs, so it covers part of what wetracked does, though signal enrichment is not its main focus.

It works with Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, and custom stores. Pricing is based on pageviews, starting at $99 a month for 50,000, with every feature on every plan.

Triple Whale: attribution inside a larger platform

Triple Whale pairs its Triple Pixel and attribution models with dashboards, creative reporting, cohorts, multi-store reporting, and Moby, its AI assistant. It answers the same credit question ThoughtMetric does, then wraps a lot more reporting around it.

There is a free plan. Paid plans are priced on annual GMV and package, quoted through a demo, and run on 12-month terms, with its Shopify App Store listing showing Foundation from $219 a month at the lowest band.

How to tell which problem you have

Open Shopify and Ads Manager for the same week. If Meta reports far fewer purchases than Shopify shows from Meta traffic, and your campaigns struggle to exit learning, you have a signal problem. That is wetracked’s job, and I explained the mechanics in do you need server-side tracking for accurate attribution.

If Meta, Google, and TikTok together claim more revenue than Shopify actually booked, you have a credit problem. Better signal will often make that worse, since every platform now sees more conversions to claim. That is where an attribution tool like ThoughtMetric or Triple Whale earns its keep. The double counting is covered in why Meta and Google both claim the same sale.

Plenty of brands have both. A common setup is a dedicated server-side tool feeding the ad platforms and an attribution tool deciding budget. If you only buy one, buy for the problem that is costing you more money right now.

Cost at a typical size

For a store doing 2,000 orders a month, wetracked’s Business plan is $149. ThoughtMetric’s cost depends on traffic rather than orders, so check its pageview tiers against your Shopify sessions. Triple Whale’s cost depends on GMV and the package, so it needs a quote. Running wetracked with either attribution tool is a normal stack, not a redundant one.

Picking one

  • Ad platforms are under-seeing conversions and you mostly manage inside Ads Manager? wetracked.io.
  • You need one deduplicated answer on which channels drive sales, at a published price, on any major platform? ThoughtMetric (our sponsor).
  • You want attribution plus a broad Shopify reporting and AI platform on a 12-month term? Triple Whale.
  • Both problems at once? Pair a server-side tool with an attribution tool, and judge them separately.
