TrueProfit is a good profit tracker. It pulls in COGS, shipping, transaction fees, and ad spend, and shows net profit by store, product, order, and ad. For a lot of Shopify brands that is exactly the job. The issue comes when you want to know which channels are actually driving those orders, because TrueProfit puts marketing attribution on its top plan.
Per its pricing page, Basic is $35 a month for 300 orders and Advanced is $60 for 600 orders. Marketing attribution sits on Enterprise, at $200 a month for 3,500 orders with per-order overage. There is a 14-day trial, no yearly plan, and each store needs its own plan. If you only need attribution, paying for the top tier of a profit tool can be the long way around. I covered profit-focused alternatives in TrueProfit alternatives for Shopify profit tracking. This one is for brands whose main gap is attribution.
1. Triple Whale
Triple Whale covers both sides. It has multi-touch attribution through its own pixel, plus profit reporting, cohorts, creative analytics, and Moby, its AI assistant. There is a free plan, and paid plans are priced on annual GMV with 12-month terms. Its Shopify App Store listing shows Foundation from $219 a month at the lowest band. It makes sense if you want one platform to replace TrueProfit entirely and can live with GMV-based pricing.
2. Polar Analytics
Polar is a reporting platform that pulls many sources into one model, with custom metrics, margin reporting, and an attribution module. It suits brands that want profit and attribution in the same custom views, especially across several stores. Pricing is not listed on the website, so plan on a demo.
3. ThoughtMetric
ThoughtMetric is attribution first. (Disclosure: ThoughtMetric sponsors this site.) It runs its own pixel, credits each sale once across channels with five attribution models, and includes post-purchase surveys, product and SKU attribution, and new versus returning splits by channel. Pricing starts at $99 a month for 50,000 pageviews, with every feature on every plan and monthly billing available. It is not a full profit tool, so brands that rely on detailed COGS rules often keep a profit app on its lower tier and add ThoughtMetric for the attribution.
4. Northbeam
Northbeam is the most advanced attribution option here and the most expensive. Starter is $1,500 a month for brands spending under $1.5M a year on ads, Professional is $3,500 a month, and Enterprise is custom. You get view-through modeling, Apex for feeding attribution back into ad delivery, and a media strategist from Professional up. It is overkill for most TrueProfit users, but it belongs on the list once ad spend reaches six figures a month.
5. Lifetimely
Lifetimely is not a multi-touch attribution tool, but it is worth knowing if your real question is which acquisition channels bring in customers worth keeping. It reports CAC, LTV by first-order channel, cohorts, and daily P&L, priced by orders from free up to 50 orders, then $79 for up to 500 and $149 for up to 3,000, with all features on every plan.
Do the math before you upgrade
Compare two stacks at your order volume. The first is TrueProfit Enterprise. The second is TrueProfit Basic or Advanced plus a dedicated attribution tool. For a store doing 1,000 orders a month, Advanced plus overage plus a standalone attribution tool often costs about the same as Enterprise, and you get a tool where attribution is the core product. For a store doing 4,000 orders, Enterprise’s lower per-order rate may win. Either way, look at how each tool attributes, not just whether the feature is checked on a plan grid. A channel report built from ad platform numbers is not the same as deduplicated multi-touch attribution.
