Triple Whale’s server-side product is Sonar Optimize. Its help center describes it as taking data collected by Triple Whale, enriching conversion events with it, and sending them to supported ad platforms through server-side connections, including more specific events like New Customer Purchase where the platform supports them. It is designed to work with the Triple Pixel, so it is a feature of the Triple Whale platform rather than a standalone tagging tool, and the free plan is the pixel and click attribution only. Check which package includes Sonar before assuming you have it.
That shapes who looks for alternatives. Some brands want server-side tagging without buying an attribution platform. Some want events going to destinations Sonar does not cover, like GA4, affiliate networks, or email. Some want a dedicated tagging layer they control. These five cover those cases, with pricing from each vendor’s own page. Background on why this matters is in do you need server-side tracking for accurate attribution?.
WeltPixel Conversion Tracking
WeltPixel is the low-cost managed option for Shopify. Its own comparison page lists a flat $39 a month, with server-side events going to GA4, Meta, TikTok, Google Ads, Reddit, Pinterest, and OpenAI ads, plus Klaviyo, and a free Discovery plan for GA4 tracking up to 100 orders a month. It is a tagging tool and nothing else, with no attribution reporting, which is the point if you already have attribution elsewhere and just want clean events going to the platforms.
Elevar
Elevar, now sold as Audiense Online, is the most complete managed option, and it was repriced this year. Core is $225 a month for up to 2,000 orders and two destinations, Advanced is $650 for 10,000 orders and four destinations, Premium is $1,250 for 30,000 orders and ten destinations, and Elite starts at $3,000. Extra destinations are $125 a month each on Advanced and up, and Core overage is $0.50 per order. Its destination list is the longest here, covering ad platforms, analytics, affiliate networks, and email and SMS tools, with a 15-day trial. Watch the destination caps, which are the real constraint on Core.
Littledata
Littledata prices per order, listed at $0.35 per tracked Shopify order on its App Store listing, with destinations including GA4, Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, and Klaviyo. It is especially strong for subscription brands because it handles recurring orders cleanly. Per-order pricing is easy to forecast, though at higher volumes a flat plan can work out cheaper, so run your order count against both models.
ThoughtMetric
ThoughtMetric is the like-for-like alternative if what you liked about Sonar was having attribution and server-side conversion feeds in one platform. (Disclosure: ThoughtMetric sponsors this site.) Its plans include server-side tracking and sending conversion data back to Meta and Google, alongside multi-touch attribution and post-purchase surveys. Pricing starts at $99 a month for 50,000 pageviews with every feature on every plan, monthly billing, and a 14-day trial. It is not a general tag manager, so for events going to Klaviyo, GA4, or affiliate networks, pair it with one of the tagging tools above.
Stape
Stape hosts server-side Google Tag Manager containers, which makes it the most flexible and cheapest route if someone on your team knows GTM. Its pricing page lists a free plan up to 10,000 requests, Pro at $17 a month billed annually for up to 500,000 requests, and Business at $83 a month billed annually for up to 5 million. Requests include page loads and scripts, not only purchases, so use its calculator before choosing. You build and maintain every tag yourself.
Do not double send
The most common mistake when adding a server-side tool next to Triple Whale is sending the same purchase twice. Triple Whale’s own documentation warns that the browser pixel and a server-side integration can send versions of the same event, and that you should review setup guides before running Sonar alongside another server-side provider. If you add any tool on this list while keeping Sonar, decide which one owns each destination, and check deduplication in each ad platform’s events manager after launch.
