Triple Whale alternatives for campaign reporting

Triple Whale’s campaign reporting is good enough that many brands never question it. Campaigns, ad sets, and ads sit next to creative performance, the free plan covers first and last click, and multi-touch attribution arrives on Foundation, listed at $219 a month on its Shopify listing and scaling with GMV on a 12-month subscription. The reasons brands look elsewhere are usually specific: they want campaign reports judged on new customers rather than blended revenue, they want a different attribution lens, or the GMV-based price has grown faster than their use of the platform.

These five each offer campaign-level reporting with a different emphasis. I listed what to check before any switch in what to check before switching from Triple Whale, starting with the fact that pixel history does not transfer.

1. ThoughtMetric

ThoughtMetric is built around the question most campaign reviews should start with, which is what each campaign costs per new customer. (Disclosure: ThoughtMetric sponsors this site.) Its campaign view shows spend, ROAS, new-customer ROAS, and cost per new-customer order for every campaign, ad set, and ad across connected channels, under five attribution models with a configurable lookback window, and post-purchase survey answers fold into the attribution. Pricing is on monthly pageviews rather than GMV, starting at $99 a month for 50,000, with every feature on every plan and monthly billing. It does not model view-through conversions, so brands with heavy upper-funnel video should compare carefully.

2. Northbeam

Northbeam is the step up in modeling. Its Clicks plus Deterministic Views model gives structured credit to ad impressions, which changes how prospecting video campaigns look compared with click-only reports. Starter is listed from $1,500 a month for brands spending under $1.5 million a year on ads, month-to-month on Shopify. If your complaint about Triple Whale is that you do not trust its campaign numbers on upper-funnel spend, this is the most direct upgrade.

3. Wicked Reports

Wicked Reports reports campaigns on the customers they bring in over time, not only the first order, which is the right lens for subscription and consumable brands where a campaign’s value shows up on the third purchase. Its pricing page uses revenue bands. In the lowest band, up to $2.5M in annual revenue, Measure is $499 a month, Scale is $699, and Maximize is $999. It costs more than a small brand needs, but for repeat-driven businesses it answers a question first-order campaign reports cannot.

4. Polar Analytics

Polar Analytics puts campaign reporting inside a broader BI layer with governed metric definitions and more data sources than most, including marketplaces. It suits teams whose leadership wants campaign performance and the rest of the business in the same reports. Pricing is not listed on the website, so you will need a demo to get a number.

5. AgencyAnalytics

AgencyAnalytics is for agencies that need campaign reports across many clients, white-labeled and scheduled. Its Core plan is $20 per client per month billed annually, with a 14-day trial. It reports what the ad platforms tell it rather than independent attribution, so it replaces the presentation side of Triple Whale’s campaign reporting, not the measurement. Agencies that use it typically keep an attribution tool underneath.

What a good campaign report shows

Whichever tool you use, the campaign report I trust has five columns: spend, attributed revenue, new-customer revenue, cost per new customer, and the gap between the tool’s ROAS and the platform’s reported ROAS. That last column is underrated. A campaign where the platform claims far more than your attribution credits is either doing invisible upper-funnel work or claiming sales it did not drive, and a holdout is the way to find out which.

Picking one

  • Want campaigns judged on new-customer cost at a pageview price? ThoughtMetric (our sponsor).
  • Heavy upper-funnel video and budget for deeper modeling? Northbeam.
  • Subscription or consumable brand? Wicked Reports.
  • Want campaigns inside a full BI layer? Polar Analytics.
  • Agency sending client reports? AgencyAnalytics, with attribution underneath.
