Growing stores, one honest take at a time.

Triple Whale alternatives that offer MCP

Triple Whale has an MCP connector, and it is a good one. Its help center describes a read-only connection that lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, n8n, and other MCP clients query your Triple Whale data, set up through an OAuth sign-in where your AI tool supports it or an MCP Read API key where it does not. It is separate from Moby, Triple Whale’s in-app AI, which can take actions the connector cannot.

The catch is the plan. Triple Whale’s documentation lists the connector on Foundation, Automate, and Enterprise, not the free plan. Foundation starts at $219 a month on its Shopify listing, scales with annual GMV, and is a 12-month subscription. So if you are on the free plan and the connector is the main thing you want, you are signing a year-long contract that grows with your revenue to get it. These four alternatives each publish their own connector, checked against the vendor’s documentation rather than directory listings, which include plenty of servers vendors did not build.

Polar Analytics

Polar Analytics documents official connectors for Claude and ChatGPT, and its distinguishing feature is what sits underneath them. Questions resolve against a semantic layer where metric definitions are set in advance, so blended ROAS means one specific thing regardless of who asks. It also pulls from more sources than most, including marketplaces. Pricing is not listed on the website, so you will need a demo to get a number, which makes it harder to compare directly with Triple Whale’s published tiers.

ThoughtMetric

ThoughtMetric calls its version AI Connectors, built on MCP. (Disclosure: ThoughtMetric sponsors this site.) The connector exposes ThoughtMetric’s catalog of defined metrics and dimensions rather than open table access, so a question like new-customer ROAS by campaign resolves against a set definition. The catalog includes spend, orders, MER, ROAS, CAC, new and returning customer splits, and dimensions down to individual ad, SKU, product, and discount code. The difference from Triple Whale is the plan structure. Every ThoughtMetric plan includes every feature, starting at $99 a month for 50,000 pageviews, with monthly billing available and a 14-day trial. I wrote up the attribution questions I actually ask through MCP if you want to see what that looks like in practice.

Northbeam

Northbeam now documents an MCP server, with a ChatGPT setup guide that signs in with your normal Northbeam login, and any client that supports remote MCP servers can use the same address. Its documentation says the MCP is available to Pro and Enterprise customers, so it is not part of the Starter plan, which is listed from $1,500 a month. For a brand that wants Northbeam’s modeling and assistant access together, that means a higher tier than the entry price suggests. If you only want a connector, this is the most expensive route on the list.

Lifetimely

Lifetimely includes a Lifetimely MCP on its paid plans, alongside an AI profit agent that proposes actions for approval. It is the right pick if the questions you want to ask an assistant are about LTV, cohorts, repurchase rate, and profit rather than ad attribution. Paid plans start at $79 a month for up to 500 orders, then $149 for up to 3,000 and $299 for up to 7,000, with a 14-day trial. It does not replace Triple Whale’s multi-touch attribution, so think of it as a different kind of data in the same assistant.

What to check before you connect anything

Three questions separate connectors that stay useful from ones that become a liability. Is it read-only, or can the assistant change things? Does it authorize through a sign-in flow you can revoke, or a pasted API key that lives in a config file? And does it answer from defined metrics, or let the assistant improvise calculations on raw tables? Triple Whale’s connector is read-only and prefers OAuth, which is the bar to hold the others to. I went deeper on the security side in is it safe to connect your analytics to an AI assistant?.

And keep the priorities straight. Pick an attribution tool for its measurement, then treat the connector as a tiebreaker. A great connector on top of numbers you do not trust just gets you wrong answers faster.

Picking one

  • Want governed metric definitions across a big data set and can wait on a demo? Polar Analytics.
  • Want a connector on every plan with no annual contract? ThoughtMetric (our sponsor).
  • Need Northbeam’s modeling and assistant access together? Northbeam Pro or Enterprise.
  • Questions are about profit and LTV, not attribution? Lifetimely.
  • Already paying for Triple Whale Foundation or above? Use the connector you have.
