The Best Attribution Tools for Audio and Headphone Brands

Headphones, earbuds, and speakers are researched purchases. Buyers read reviews, watch YouTube comparisons, check affiliate roundups, and often buy a week or more after first seeing you. Order values are high enough that a few misattributed sales can swing a channel’s numbers. Review sites and affiliates are a real channel, Google Shopping and search catch the end of the journey, and Amazon is always a tab away.

So the tools that fit handle long lookbacks, track affiliates and YouTube, and don’t overreact to small order counts. Here’s my ranking. (Disclosure: ThoughtMetric, ranked second, sponsors this site.)

1. Northbeam

Northbeam credits YouTube and video views through its Clicks + Deterministic Views model and integrates natively with Amazon Ads and Amazon Seller, which helps audio brands that split sales between their site and Amazon. Starter is listed from $1,500 a month for brands spending under $1.5 million a year on ads, month to month for Shopify brands. Professional is $3,500 a month on annual terms and adds support for any e-commerce platform.

2. ThoughtMetric

ThoughtMetric, which sponsors this site, integrates natively with Google Ads, which brings in Shopping and YouTube campaigns, along with Bing Ads, Meta, TikTok, and Pinterest. Affiliate networks and review sites can be tracked as custom channels, and post-purchase survey answers feed the multi-touch model. It’s an e-commerce attribution tool for Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, and custom stores. Pricing starts at $99 a month for 50,000 pageviews, with every feature on every plan. It doesn’t model view-through conversions or track Amazon sales.

3. Wicked Reports

Wicked Reports keeps the original touch on record however long the buyer takes, and credits it again when they return for earbuds after buying over-ears. Measure is $499 a month for brands under $2.5 million in revenue, with Scale at $699 and Maximize at $999.

4. Triple Whale

Triple Whale integrates with affiliate networks including Impact, Awin, ShareASale, and Rakuten, plus Amazon, so affiliate revenue sits next to ads in one Shopify dashboard. Foundation is listed from $219 a month on its Shopify listing and is priced by annual GMV. The free plan covers first and last click with a 12-month lookback.

5. Fairing

Fairing can ask which review site or YouTube channel convinced a buyer, which tells you more about affiliate value than last-click data does. It’s free up to 200 orders a month, then $49 up to 500 and $99 up to 1,000.

What audio brands should measure

Set the lookback window from your own days-to-purchase data, which is often 14 to 30 days for premium audio. Look at rolling 30 or 60 day numbers, since small order counts make daily ROAS noisy. Separate review-site affiliates from coupon affiliates, because coupon sites often take last-click credit for sales a review already won. Measure on net revenue after returns. And watch branded search when a big YouTube review goes live. See attribution tools for phone and tech accessory brands, attributing discount and influencer codes, and do attribution tools work with YouTube ads.

FAQs

How long should my attribution window be?

Match it to your days-to-purchase data. Premium audio buyers often take two weeks or more.

Do coupon affiliates take too much credit?

Often. They tend to appear at checkout. Compare their share in last-click reports with survey answers.

Can attribution tools track Amazon sales?

Some can. Northbeam and Triple Whale integrate with Amazon. ThoughtMetric, our sponsor, tracks your own store, not Amazon.

What’s the cheapest setup?

ThoughtMetric, which sponsors this site, at $99 a month or Triple Whale’s free plan, plus Fairing’s free tier.

How to choose

  • Choose Northbeam if YouTube and video spend is large and Amazon matters.

  • Choose Wicked Reports if buyers take months and come back for more gear.
