Polar Analytics is popular with Shopify Plus brands because it gives a growing team one place for reporting, with a data warehouse and custom metrics underneath. The brands that look for alternatives usually fall into two groups. Some want deeper ad attribution than a BI platform is built for. Others have outgrown Shopify-only data and need wholesale, Amazon, and retail in the same picture. The right replacement depends on which group you’re in.
Here’s how I’d rank the options for a Plus brand. (Disclosure: ThoughtMetric, ranked second, sponsors this site.)
| Tool | Starting price | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Northbeam | From $1,500/mo (Starter) | Deep multi-channel attribution at scale | Professional is $3,500/mo, annual |
| ThoughtMetric (sponsor) | $99/mo for 50,000 pageviews | Attribution plus surveys at a published price | Not a full BI platform |
| Triple Whale | Free plan; Foundation from $219/mo | Attribution, BI, and AI in one suite | GMV pricing at Plus scale |
| Daasity | From $1,899/mo | Omnichannel data across retail and wholesale | Cost and implementation effort |
| Elevar | Premium $1,250/mo (30,000 orders) | Server-side tracking across storefronts | Tracking layer, not reporting |
1. Northbeam
Northbeam is the step up for Plus brands whose main question is where ad dollars should go across many channels. It models view-through credit, pushes first-party data back to ad algorithms through Apex, and offers MMM and incrementality add-ons on higher tiers. Starter is listed from $1,500 a month for brands under $1.5 million a year in ad spend. Professional is $3,500 a month on annual terms and works with any e-commerce platform.
2. ThoughtMetric
ThoughtMetric, which sponsors this site, is a focused e-commerce attribution tool for Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, and custom stores. It combines multi-touch pixel data with post-purchase surveys, integrates with Meta, Google, TikTok, Pinterest, and Bing, and offers multi-store, product-level, and LTV reporting. It doesn’t replace a full BI platform for finance or inventory. Pricing starts at $99 a month for 50,000 pageviews, up to $399 for 300,000.
3. Triple Whale
Triple Whale overlaps most with Polar: dashboards, a SQL editor, cohorts, multi-touch attribution, and Moby AI, with unlimited users and multiple stores on paid plans. Foundation is listed from $219 a month and Automate from $749 on its Shopify listing, priced by annual GMV, so Plus brands should expect a higher quote.
4. Daasity
Daasity is the alternative for Plus brands that sell on Amazon, through wholesale, or in retail and want all of it in one model. It integrates with Shopify B2B, Amazon, NetSuite, and the major ad platforms. It’s listed from $1,899 a month on its Shopify listing, with usage based on revenue. Plan for a real implementation project.
5. Elevar
Elevar, now sold as Audiense Online, isn’t a Polar replacement on its own, but it’s often part of the stack. Its Premium plan, $1,250 a month for up to 30,000 orders, covers multiple storefronts and Shopify Markets and sends clean server-side events to ad platforms, analytics tools, and BigQuery.
Decide what Polar was doing for you
List every report your teams open in Polar each week and who uses it. If most are marketing reports, a focused attribution tool will cover them for less. If finance and ops rely on Polar’s BI views, you need a replacement for those too, or you’ll end up rebuilding them in spreadsheets. Export custom metric definitions before you leave, and run tools in parallel for a few weeks.
