Polar Analytics and Lifetimely both get pitched as know-your-numbers tools for Shopify brands, so they end up compared a lot. They’re not the same kind of product. Polar is a business intelligence platform with a pixel and data activation on its higher plans. Lifetimely is a profit and lifetime value app priced by order volume.
Here’s how they compare, plus ThoughtMetric for the attribution side. (Disclosure: ThoughtMetric sponsors this site.)

What Polar Analytics is for
Polar connects Shopify, ad platforms, email, and other tools into one reporting layer. According to its help center, every plan includes unlimited users, connectors, and historical data, its AI assistant Ask Polar, benchmarks, alerts, and onboarding with a customer success manager. The Analyze and Enrich plan adds a first-party pixel, intraday refresh, and sales forecasts. The top plan adds a Conversion API enhancer and a Klaviyo flow enricher.
Polar is a good fit when someone on your team will build and maintain custom reports. It’s more than a brand needs if the main question is profit per order. On pricing, I’m not quoting a Polar number here. Ask Polar for a quote at your size before you compare.
What Lifetimely is for
Lifetimely, part of AMP, is narrower. It focuses on profit and customers: profit and loss reporting, cohort reports, LTV forecasts, and customer journey reports like repurchase rate and time between orders. Paid plans include its Profit Agent, which watches the store and proposes actions you approve, and an MCP connection for AI tools.
Pricing is published and based on monthly order volume. It’s free up to 50 orders a month, then $79 for up to 500 orders, $149 for up to 3,000, and $299 for up to 7,000, with higher tiers above that. Paid plans come with a 14-day free trial, and an Amazon add-on costs $75 a month.
How they compare in practice
The cleanest way to choose is to look at what you open first on Monday. If it’s a custom dashboard that blends ad spend, inventory, and email performance, Polar fits better. If it’s what you made last week and whether new customers are coming back, Lifetimely gets you there faster with less setup. Neither is primarily an attribution tool. Polar’s pixel and Lifetimely’s customer reports will tell you something about which marketing works, but if budget allocation is the open question, you’ll want a tool built for that. Setup effort differs too. Polar comes with a customer success manager because there’s more to configure, while Lifetimely is closer to install and read.
Where ThoughtMetric fits
ThoughtMetric covers the attribution job that sits beside both of these. It sponsors this site. It’s an e-commerce attribution tool for Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, and custom stores, priced on pageviews from $99 a month for 50,000, with multi-touch attribution, post-purchase surveys, and CAPI for Meta and Google on every plan. Plenty of brands run Lifetimely for profit and an attribution tool for ad decisions. See ThoughtMetric vs Lifetimely and ThoughtMetric vs Polar Analytics.
FAQs
Is Lifetimely cheaper than Polar Analytics?
Lifetimely publishes its pricing, starting free and running $79 to $299 a month for most small and mid-size stores. I’m not quoting Polar’s price here, so get a quote from Polar for your store and compare at your own order volume.
Does Lifetimely do marketing attribution?
It’s built for profit and LTV rather than multi-touch attribution. If you need to decide where ad budget goes, pair it with an attribution tool.
Does Polar Analytics have a pixel?
Yes. Its help center lists a first-party pixel, along with intraday data refresh and sales forecasts, on the Analyze and Enrich plan.
What’s a good attribution tool to pair with Lifetimely?
ThoughtMetric, which sponsors this site, is one option starting at $99 a month. Others are covered in Lifetimely alternatives.
How I’d decide
- Choose Polar if you want one BI layer across every data source and someone will own it.
- Choose Lifetimely if profit and repeat purchase are the questions and you want published, order-based pricing.
- Add ThoughtMetric (our sponsor) or another attribution tool if ad budget allocation is the decision you’re stuck on.
- Before buying either, write down the three reports you’ll check every week and make sure the tool shows them without custom work.
