SegMetrics prices on active contacts, which tells you most of what you need to know about who it was built for. Coaches, course sellers, and lead-gen businesses running long nurture sequences. Plans run $57 a month for Launch, $197 for Grow, and $397 for Scale, with an Enterprise tier aimed at companies past $10M in revenue. Every tier is priced against how many contacts you are actively engaging in a 30-day window, and there is a 14-day trial with a 30-day refund window behind it.
If you run a Shopify store, that model can quietly work against you. Your contact list grows with every order whether or not those people need individual journey tracking, so your bill scales with a number that has nothing to do with how hard your measurement problem actually is. The reporting is also oriented around funnel steps and nurture sequences rather than around orders and ad spend. Server-side tracking sits at the $397 Scale tier, or as a paid add-on below it. Here are five tools worth looking at instead.
1. Wicked Reports
The closest philosophical match to SegMetrics. Wicked Reports is built around first-click credit and long lookback windows, which is the right shape for brands where the gap between first ad click and first order runs weeks rather than hours. Pricing is banded by your last twelve months of gross revenue. In the lowest band, Measure is $499 a month, Scale is $699, and Maximize is $999, with Enterprise starting at $4,999 for brands past $50M. Advanced Signal and 5 Forces AI cost $199 a month each on the two lower tiers and are included above them. I went through the tradeoffs in more depth in ThoughtMetric vs Wicked Reports.
2. ThoughtMetric
ThoughtMetric, which sponsors this blog, prices on pageviews rather than contacts or revenue. It is $99 a month, or $83 a month billed annually, and every feature is available at every tier, so server-side tracking and multiple attribution models are not separate line items you discover at renewal. There is a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. For a store between $1M and $20M where the actual question is which ads produced which orders, this is a far simpler purchase than a contact-priced platform, and the bill does not move when your list grows.
3. Triple Whale
Triple Whale is the broadest suite of the five and the one most likely to be already installed at the brands you benchmark against. There is a free tier with basic attribution, then Foundation from $219 a month and Automate from $749, both quoted for the lowest GMV band. Enterprise is custom. Prices are set by a combination of your annual GMV and the package, so the figure you are quoted at signup is not the figure you pay in eighteen months. Paid plans are twelve-month subscriptions, with two months free on annual billing.
4. Northbeam
Northbeam is where you land if the SegMetrics limitation you hit was modeling depth rather than price. Starter is $1,500 a month for brands spending under $1.5M a year on ads, and Professional is $3,500 for teams spending up to $500k a month. Growth is quoted through an agency partner, and Enterprise is custom. Your actual rate is set by pageview volume, so the published numbers are floors. Two details worth knowing before you book the demo: integrations beyond Shopify start at Professional, and media mix modeling is an optional add-on rather than an included feature.
5. Hyros
Hyros competes directly with SegMetrics for the info-product and long-consideration crowd, and it is the option I am least able to price for you honestly. There is no public rate card. Pricing runs on tracked monthly revenue tiers, split into separate Shopify and Business tracks, with agency pricing quoted on client count. Published entry figures assume annual billing, and anything above the lowest tier requires a sales call. Third-party teardowns disagree with each other by a factor of four, which usually means the quote structure changes often. Treat any number you find as a starting point for the conversation.
How I would actually choose
The question is not which tool has the best attribution model. It is which pricing metric you want your bill attached to for the next three years. SegMetrics ties it to contacts, Wicked Reports to gross revenue, Triple Whale to GMV, Northbeam to pageviews, Hyros to tracked revenue, and ThoughtMetric to pageviews at a flat rate. Every one of those except the flat rate means growth raises your cost whether or not the tool got better.
One thing nobody tells you in the demo: switching attribution tools loses your history. The new platform starts collecting the day you install the pixel, and backfilled data from your ad accounts is not the same thing as the touchpoint record you built up. If you are going to switch, switch once, and run the old tool alongside the new one for at least a full purchase cycle before you cancel.
