Attribution (the tool literally named Attribution, at attributionapp.com) occupies a specific niche. It is built around Twilio Segment, tracks cost at the user level rather than the campaign level, and its whole pitch is that the ROAS number it produces reconciles against your bank account instead of against Meta’s estimate. For teams already running Segment, that is a real advantage, because installing it as a destination is most of the setup.
The Pro plan starts at $335 per month billed annually, or $399 monthly, covering up to 10,000 monthly tracked users and three seats. Enterprise is quoted. There is also a Shopify track and optional managed onboarding at $2,500 to $5,000 on Pro plans. The friction most people run into is that the main pricing page routes you to a request form, so getting a firm number for your volume takes a conversation.
If you are shopping around, here are five worth comparing.
1. Hyros
Hyros is the closest match in philosophy. Long attribution windows, call tracking, and heavy emphasis on feeding cleaned conversion data back to the ad platforms. It is the tool of choice in coaching, consulting, and high-ticket info products, where a sale takes six weeks and involves a phone call that no pixel will ever see.
Pricing is tiered by tracked monthly revenue rather than by named plans, and only the entry tier is shown publicly. Everything above it requires a demo call, and agency pricing is quoted based on how many clients you bring. If your AOV is under $100 and your sales cycle is a day, this is more machinery than you need. See my ThoughtMetric vs Hyros comparison for the head to head.
2. Northbeam
Northbeam is the step up in both sophistication and price. Machine learning attribution, creative analytics, correlation analysis, and MMM+ as an option on the top tier. Plans are structured around media spend, and the entry point is not subtle.
Starter is listed at $1,500 per month for brands spending under $1.5M a year on media. It integrates directly with Shopify only, bills monthly based on data volume, and support is email. Professional and Enterprise, aimed at $250k and $500k per month in media spend respectively, are both quote only. Northbeam is explicit that the listed rate is a starting point and that your actual price depends on pageview volume, so treat $1,500 as the floor rather than the number. This is a tool for brands with a data team already in place.
3. Rockerbox
Rockerbox is the one to look at if a meaningful share of spend runs through channels a pixel cannot follow. Linear TV, podcast, direct mail, retail. It combines multi-touch attribution with media mix modeling and incrementality testing rather than treating them as competing religions, which matches how measurement actually works once you are spending across offline and online.
Pricing is not listed on the website. There is no published entry point, and implementation is a project rather than an install. That is appropriate for the problem it solves, but it does mean this is not a tool you trial on a Tuesday afternoon.
4. Triple Whale
Triple Whale is the mass-market Shopify option, and the free plan makes it easy to evaluate. You get first-click and last-click attribution, channel performance, a standard post-purchase survey, and a twelve month lookback with up to ten users at no cost. The Triple Pixel is on the free plan too, but the multi-touch models are not.
Paid plans are priced on a combination of annual GMV and package. Foundation is $219 per month and adds multi-touch attribution, the BI suite, and custom segments. Automate is $749 per month and adds scheduled automations. Enterprise is quote only and is where MMM and incrementality testing live. All paid plans include unlimited users, and all three are twelve month subscriptions billed monthly or annually with two months free. The commitment is the catch. You are signing for a year before you have had a full quarter to reconcile its numbers against Shopify. Details in ThoughtMetric vs Triple Whale.
5. ThoughtMetric
ThoughtMetric, which sponsors this blog, is the option that most closely matches Attribution App’s price band without requiring Segment to be in the stack. Multi-touch attribution, post-purchase surveys, server-side tracking, and conversion API support, priced at $99 per month for up to 50,000 pageviews and scaling on pageview volume from there.
Two things separate it from the rest of this list. Every feature is available on every tier, so you are buying volume rather than access. And pricing is published, which sounds like a small thing until you have spent three weeks booking demos to find out whether a tool is even in your range. The tradeoff is that it is not built for the long, call-driven sales cycles Hyros handles, and it is not doing TV or direct mail measurement.
The short version
If you are already on Segment and happy, staying put is a defensible decision. The user-level cost tracking is a real differentiator and switching means rebuilding your event layer.
If you are not on Segment, most of Attribution App’s advantage disappears and you are paying $335 per month for something a Shopify-native tool does with an app install. Match the tool to the sales cycle rather than the feature list. Long cycle with phone calls goes to Hyros. Offline channels go to Rockerbox. Standard DTC goes to whichever of the Shopify-native options fits the budget, and I would start with the free tier before signing anything with a twelve month term.
