Metrilo is one of the older all-in-one plays in e-commerce analytics. It bundles three things that usually live in separate tools: revenue and marketing analytics, an e-commerce CRM with customer profiles and segmentation, and email marketing. Pricing starts at $199 a month for the Essential plan (analytics and reporting), $379 for Pro (adds the CRM and retention analysis), and $599 for Premium (adds email, and the top tier is priced partly on your new customers per month). There is a 14-day free trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
The bundle is the appeal and also the reason people leave. If you only want the analytics, you are paying for CRM and email machinery you might already run in Klaviyo. If you want best-in-class email, Metrilo is not it. And $199 as a floor is steep for a store under $1M that mostly needs clean profit and LTV numbers. Here are five alternatives, depending on which slice of Metrilo you actually came for.
Lifetimely
If the part of Metrilo you care about is customer analytics, Lifetimely is the sharper, cheaper tool for it. It is a Shopify app focused on real-time profit and loss, predictive LTV, and genuinely good cohort analysis, with channel-level CAC and ROAS pulled in from your ad accounts. There is a free tier for tiny stores, and paid plans scale by order volume, roughly $149 to $499 a month for most brands, with a 14-day trial. It will not run your email or act as a CRM, but for understanding what a cohort is worth over time, it does more than Metrilo for less.
Peel Insights
Peel is the cohort and retention specialist, and it goes deeper on that one thing than Metrilo’s retention view does. It is built for brands where repeat purchase behavior and subscription dynamics are the whole game, so it tends to earn its price in the higher revenue bands. The public floor sits around $200 a month with larger tiers quote-based. If your retention questions are getting more specific than Metrilo can answer and you do not need the CRM or email pieces, Peel is the focused upgrade.
ThoughtMetric
Metrilo will tell you which source a sale came from, but attribution is not its strength, and that is where a lot of operators feel the gap. ThoughtMetric is purpose-built for it, combining pixel tracking with post-purchase surveys, five attribution models you can switch between, and customer and product analytics alongside the campaign view. It starts at $99 a month for 50,000 pageviews and scales by pageviews, with every feature included on every tier and a 14-day free trial. (Disclosure: ThoughtMetric sponsors this site.) It is not a CRM and does not send email, so it is a swap for the analytics half of Metrilo rather than the whole thing, but it is more accurate on the question of where revenue actually comes from.
TrueProfit
If what you really want from analytics is a trustworthy net profit number after COGS, shipping, fees, and ad spend, TrueProfit is built around exactly that. It is a Shopify app with real-time profit dashboards, per-order and per-product margins, and a mobile app for checking the number on the go. Pricing is tiered by order volume with a 14-day trial, and it sits well below Metrilo’s floor for the lower tiers. It is narrower than Metrilo by design. You are buying a profit calculator that you can trust, not a marketing suite.
Glew
Glew is the closest thing on this list to Metrilo’s breadth, covering profitability, inventory, customer segmentation, and multichannel reporting in one place. It is a better fit if you sell across more than one channel and want inventory and product analytics in the same view as customer data. Pricing is tiered and quote-driven depending on data sources and channels, so you will need to talk to them for a real number. If you liked that Metrilo tried to do everything but wanted stronger reporting and multichannel support, Glew is the comparison to run.
Picking between these
- You came for customer analytics and LTV: Lifetimely.
- Retention and cohorts are the whole point: Peel Insights.
- The real gap is attribution accuracy: ThoughtMetric.
- You just want a profit number you can trust: TrueProfit.
- You actually wanted the everything-in-one-place breadth: Glew.
Here is the question Metrilo’s pricing forces you to answer honestly: are you using all three of analytics, CRM, and email, or are you paying for a bundle to use one corner of it? Most brands I have looked at use the analytics, ignore the CRM because their data already lives in Klaviyo, and never seriously adopt the email. If that is you, you are better off buying the one tool that nails the job you actually do and letting your existing stack handle the rest. The bundle only wins if you genuinely consolidate, and very few teams do.
