Growing stores, one honest take at a time.

Improvado alternatives for marketing data aggregation

Improvado is an enterprise marketing data platform. A large connector library, no-code transformation, pre-built marketing data models, and data governance, sold on custom quote-based pricing. It is built for mid-to-large marketing teams and agencies that have complex data and limited engineering time.

The reasons to look elsewhere are mostly about fit. The pricing and scope are enterprise, and most DTC brands do not need governance for hundreds of campaigns across many markets. Implementation takes real time. And it is a data layer rather than an attribution tool, so you still visualize the output in Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.

Here is where I would look instead.

Funnel.io

Funnel is the lighter aggregation option with built-in dashboards and a faster path to value, plus published pricing you can actually evaluate. It does less governance than Improvado, which for most teams is fine.

ThoughtMetric

ThoughtMetric is what I use, and for an e-commerce brand it usually answers the real question better than an aggregation platform does. Attribution and reporting built for online stores, without an enterprise contract or a data team to run it. The tradeoff is that it is e-commerce focused, so it is not the tool if you need every department’s marketing data harmonized in one warehouse.

Supermetrics

Supermetrics covers the connector job for smaller teams and agencies, pulling data into Sheets and Looker Studio. It is cheaper and more DIY, and it leaves the modeling and governance to you.

Adverity

Adverity is the closest enterprise peer, with AI-assisted data harmonization and a very large connector library. It sits in the same league as Improvado on price and complexity, so it is a real comparison if you are evaluating at that tier.

Windsor.ai

If you want the connector and warehouse route without the enterprise commitment, Windsor.ai does it cheaply with a broad library and built-in attribution modeling. It is a pipe, not a dashboard, so you build reporting elsewhere.

Picking between these

  • If you want lighter aggregation with dashboards, Funnel.io.
  • If you run an e-commerce brand and want answers, not infrastructure, ThoughtMetric.
  • If you are a small team or agency, Supermetrics.
  • If you need a true enterprise peer, Adverity.
  • If you want the cheap warehouse route, Windsor.ai.

Improvado is a serious tool for the team that genuinely has an enterprise data problem. The mistake I see is brands buying that level of machinery to answer a question a focused e-commerce tool would answer faster and cheaper. Size the tool to the problem you actually have.
