Growing stores, one honest take at a time.

AppsFlyer alternatives for mobile attribution

AppsFlyer is a mobile measurement partner. It tracks app installs and in-app events, attributes them across thousands of ad networks, and adds fraud protection and privacy-era SKAN support. Pricing is conversion or active-user based with no real free tier, and it starts around a thousand a month and scales steeply from there. For app-first businesses it is close to an industry standard.

The reasons to look elsewhere are cost and fit. AppsFlyer is enterprise-grade and can feel heavy and expensive for lean teams, and the conversion-based pricing climbs fast. It is also mobile-app attribution specifically, so if most of your revenue runs through a website or Shopify store, it is measuring the wrong surface.

Here is where I would look instead.

Adjust

Adjust is the main rival, known for flat-rate, transparent pricing and a clean SKAN implementation. For startups and scale-ups that need to budget accurately, the predictability is the draw. Feature breadth is slightly behind AppsFlyer on network integrations.

Branch

Branch leads on deep linking and web-to-app journeys. If your friction is getting users from a link into the right place in the app while keeping attribution intact, Branch is built around that problem. It does attribution too, but linking is the standout.

Singular

Singular is the pick if cross-channel cost aggregation and true ROAS in one view is your priority. It pulls spend and attribution together so you see blended performance, which is exactly what most growth teams actually want to act on.

Airbridge

Airbridge positions itself as the high-performance challenger, offering accuracy in the AppsFlyer range with more transparent pricing and easier setup. For teams frustrated by core features sitting behind premium tiers, it is worth a look.

ThoughtMetric

ThoughtMetric is what I use, and the honest note is that it is not an MMP. It is e-commerce web attribution. I am including it because plenty of brands evaluating AppsFlyer are mostly a Shopify store with a secondary app, and the real measurement gap is on the web and store side that an MMP does not cover. If the app is the whole business, use one of the MMPs above. If the store is, this is the tool.

Picking between these

  • If you want transparent flat-rate pricing, Adjust.
  • If deep linking is the problem, Branch.
  • If you want blended cross-channel ROAS, Singular.
  • If you want accuracy with cleaner pricing, Airbridge.
  • If your real business is the web store, ThoughtMetric.

The first thing to settle with AppsFlyer is where your revenue actually happens. If you are app-first, this is a choice between mobile measurement partners and the differences are real. If you are store-first with an app on the side, you may be shopping in the wrong category entirely.

About

Six years in e-commerce. Three Shopify stores across different niches, one scaled past seven figures. I’ve tested hundreds of ad creatives, obsessed over email flows, and learned more from my failures than my wins.

Now I focus on conversion optimization, retention marketing, and the analytics behind it all. This blog is where I share what actually works, backed by real numbers. No fluff, no guru energy.
